Western Light

A new modern wide single vanity in a light cerused oak finish brightens the space, with a bright white Quartz countertop. The darker matte black hardware and decorative elements provides some contrast. The barn door entrance is adorned with a rustic twig-themed pull, and a quirky Arteriors mirror also adds to the mix.

The upstairs master bedroom features an king-size bed with the headboard upholstered in a Quadrille fabric with complimentary toss pillows. A pair of upholstered stools in a natural linen sits at the foot of the bed, and beneath is a custom wool area rug by Julie Dasher rugs with an ikat field pattern. The wood floors are stained white, for a fresh look.

In the basement bedroom you will find the home’s original terracotta tile has been layered with a sisal and wool area rug. A winged king-size bed by Gabby Home is upholstered in an M & K Textiles fabric, and at the foot of the bed is a daybed by Mr. Brown. The ceramic bedside lamps are both by Circa Lighting, and rest upon raffia-wrapped tables by Bungalow 5.

A striking distressed, turquoise blue cabinet functions as a liquor cabinet with all the accouterments needed. Hand-painted Mexican plates are hung from the wall above.

This room has two opposite-facing custom L-shaped sectionals in a Pindler & Pindler striped fabric. The flatweave area rug features a colorful tribal rug. Since space is at a premium, small stools function as coffee tables.

Atop the stool sits a yellow hand-blown round vase with wildflowers.

The lower level family room is accessorized with Western accents.

The bar features hand blown glass tumblers by Clancy Designs, which have vibrant pops of color.

Over the family room sofa, there is a pastel drawing with small antique cowboy and Indian figurines affixed.

Off the main living room, there is a cozy nook with four chairs by Redford House surrounding a rustic coffee table by La Lune Collection. A sisal area rug by Fibreworks grounds the space, and geometric sconces by Arteriors flank a full length mirror, which bounces light throughout.

The dining area off the main living room features a custom L-shaped banquette in a metallic faux leather. The dining table is a rustic white tree root by Groundworks, and the tiered antique silver chandelier is by Made Goods. Dining chairs by Palecek are upholstered in a Robert Allen glazed linen.

The kitchen features perimeter cabinetry in a rustic cerused oak, with flat full overlay doors. A large island/combination informal dining table features a reclaimed wood top. The counter stools are by Gabby Home. The metal pendant over the island is from Crate & Barrel.

The kitchen features parsons shelves, and a simple custom range, all in the cerused oak finish. The countertops are white Quartz. The stainless range is by Thermador. The backsplash is a simple white subway tile.

A detailed shot is shown of the Lee Industries sofa, which is upholstered in a durable Duralee fabric. An Oly ottoman upholstered in faux leather serves as a coffee table. The round wool area rug is by Julie Dasher, and it features a flame stitch pattern in blue and greens. A landscape oil painting in a gold frame is hung above the sofa, and an itty bitty floor lamp provides reading light.

What was originally an old built-in china cabinet was transformed to a multi-functional beverage center. The base doors conceal a beverage refrigerator, with a white Caesarstone counter above. Parsons shelves up top provide storage space for glassware.

While the ceiling height in this lower level space isn’t generous enough for real bunk beds, we were still able to accommodate five extra-long twin beds in the space, as well as a vanity for everyone to share. This is a great space for kids to have sleep-overs. The rustic beds are by La Lune Collection.

Some fun textile art was introduced into the space with framed western handkerchiefs.

The rustic pine gray bed frame is by La Lune Collection, and the custom monogrammed bedding introduces splashes of red, which are complimented by the dried chili peppers hanging from the bronze bed sconce.

Above the lower level sectional is mounted a pastel landscape done by a dear friend, upon which are mounted antique cowboy and Indian figurines. It’s such a fun and unexpected way to corral a collection, and makes a beautiful statement piece.

In a small alcove right off the main entry sits a built-in bench with open shoe storage, and twig-inspired metal hooks for hats and purses.

The guest bedroom is short on space, but not on impact. A Queen-size Ethan Allen bed just fits with a pair of antique tables and thin lamps with custom fabric shades.

Bright blue and green Stick Candles in acrylic holders bring some whimsy to the dining room.

The guest room features a built-in seat with a cushion fabricated from a fun Quadrille pattern. A flat custom Roman shade provides privacy, and an antique chest provides storage. A lamp by Circa Lighting with a custom lampshade in another Quadrille fabric tops the chest.
