Aesthetic Movement

The woodwork throughout this Craftsman home has been kept a natural wood stain. To complement it, the walls in this family room have been painted a vibrant pea green. The custom upholstery combines the green with richer red tones.

The breakfast table in the large eat-in kitchen is paired with a set of camel-colored leather dining chairs, and above the table is suspended a simple linen drum pendant. The custom kitchen cabinetry, shown behind, is painted sage green, and the glazed backsplash tile is a mix of green, orange, and red.

The open concept kitchen leads straight into the family room. Along the exterior wall is a work surface with an upholstered pin board with ribbon detailing.

The shaker-style kitchen cabinetry is a stained sage, which allows the grain of the wood to show through. In contrast, the island is stained to match the wood floors. It features a copper apron sink. The Wolf double range provides plenty of cooking surface, and the custom hood matches the cabinetry seamlessly.

A desk surface was integrated into the kitchen to provide a convenient landing space for recipes and paperwork.

The Shaker-style dining table and chairs are elevated with upholstered walls and matching full-length drapery panels. Stained glass windows beckon back to a bygone era, while the black and brass chandelier inserts a modern influence.

The living room features a fireplace with a simplified stained mantel, and a beautifully tiled surround. A palette of greens and red is carried into this space as well. The windows are dressed with simple flat Roman shades with green banding, and the walls are covered in a grasscloth.

The powder room vanity features a beautiful hammered copper sink and copper faucet. Slate tile is installed on the floor and half-way up the walls. Above, a red grasscloth wallpaper introduces some texture. The wood-tiled mirror is flanked by a pair of black sconces, which mirror the vanity hardware finish.

An alcove on the upstairs hall includes an arch with a built-in bench. A quilted bench cushion and matching Roman shades complete the nook.

The Shaker-style master bed is dressed up with a custom canopy in a green fern print, which is echoed on the window shades. A pair of articulating bronze wall sconces provide reading light, and various shades of soothing green complete the space.

Instead of heavy cabinetry, the master bath is equipped with a pair of stand-along console sinks and recessed medicine cabinets. The walls are painted a soothing aloe green, and the floor tile is a basketweave pattern with combined white and green glazed tiles.

Across from the sinks sits a clawfoot porcelain tub, and adjacent is an enclosed water closet and shower with coordinating green and white glazed tiles.

This large basement playroom includes a stunning custom playhouse and custom green cabinetry for toy storage. The mod wallpaper is another playful nod, combining the green and orange color scheme.
